EUROPABALL VELDEN

The "Organisationskomitee Pro Europa - Organising Committee Pro Europe" is a non-profit community that supports a free and united Europe with the motto: ‘European Politicians perform European politics, but only pan-European friends will form friendship and understanding in Europe’. In its early years different social projects, mainly in the former eastern European countries, were organised and supported.
Established in 1990, today the Europaball is one of the most magnificent summer events in Europe. Guests from all across Europe travel each year to Velden (Austria) for this exclusive charity event in aid of Meningitis. With three live bands, a fine dine restaurant and a memorable atmosphere the Europaball offers a great variety of entertainment. On one side the Europaball is a classic, traditional ball event. On the other, it is an unforgettably wild and fun party that gives guests a chance to let their hair down, in an exclusive social setting. After the event, guests are invited to a late-night cocktail thus having the possibility to party all night long.
Inaugural “Europaball 2010 – Vienna Edition

Vienna is the world-renowned birthplace of ball events, ever since Emperor Joseph II, (1765-1790) first threw open the doors of the Hofburg palace ballroom to the public. Over the years Vienna has honed this tradition of organising world-class balls in a variety of novel and entertaining formats.
Building on this tradition, the first Europaball was held in 1990, at an annual location in Austria’s celebrated and picturesque lakeside destination of Velden. After twenty years, the Organising Committee is proud to bring this glittering social event to the capital of Austria, Vienna, where the Viennese waltz was first created.
This year’s inaugural “Europaball - Vienna Edition”, will host a formal VIP reception on the river terrace of the “Marina Wien” restaurant. The "Bläserquartett", classically trained musicians of the famous "Gardemusik des Österreichischen Bundesheers" will entertain and accompany the formal parade of tuxedoed gentlemen and beautifully gowned ladies, to the MS "Kaiserin Elisabeth" for an evening of fine dining, dancing, and sampling another of Austria’s famous exports: “schnapps”!
The boat trip will bring ball guests upstream to Korneuburg where a firework display will mark the closure of the evening, leading attendees back to shore again by 00.30. For guests who aren’t quite ready for the party to end, the boat will stay on shore for another hour at the Marina Pier West.
